From the 4th to the 6th of April 2017, has been held in Palermo the first training for educators foreseen by the project ROBIN- Reinforcing cOmpetences to Build Inclusion through a New learning methodology, organised by the Centro per lo Sviluppo Creativo “Danilo Dolci”.
The training is set out within an Erasmus+ project, KA2 Strategic Partnership for Adult Education, with the objective of developing an innovative methodology to strengthen the personal, social, methodological and technical competences of educators, to support the social integration of migrant minors thus preventing their early school leaving.
The training involved 18 participants, including educators, youth workers, social operators, volunteers working in local immigration centres, psychologists and social assistants, who had the occasion to experiment the integrative learning methodology based on the experiential approach and to deepen specific social thematic, while exploring new tools for a non-formal educational path.
Basing on what defined by the project’s partners starting from the previous educators’ need analysis, the training saw – through interactive activities, games, brainstormings and debates, artistic activies and role games – the deepen of the following thematic areas:
- Leadership and Motivation;
- Emotional and physical health;
- Accepting differences;
- Building healthy relationships;
- Learning to learn;
- The psychosocial games.
The impact has been very positive due to the fact that, as detected by the need analysis, educators showed a strong need to explore new non formal educational methods and more attractive approaches for the youngsters they work with, especially for the ones with a migrant background.
Moreover, the active role and the interested look of the participants, has given as the chance to collect feedbacks to improve the piloting version of the methodology and then implement the final version in the following months.
Between May and October, in fact, other 5 free trainings will be organised; for more information about the project, write to email@example.com or stay tuned on the news published on our Facebook page!
